Sun remains dangerous for our skin, but obviously, it has its benefits: it helps in the synthesis of vitamin D, improves energy and mood, among others!
So with the summer coming, how can we ensure that we don't end up with damaged skin ?
Prioritize progressive sunbathing (especially if you live in a less sunny area).
It's the usual mistake to expose yourself for long periods and during the hottest hours at the first ray of sunshine, and that isually doesn't end well.
If it's your first week of holidays or week-end out, maybe just a few hours of sun with a good protection will do.
Apply sunscreen properly, with SPF 30 or 50.
Spring nutrition: Favor orange foods to stimulate melanin production, such as carrots, oranges, sweet potatoes... and why not eat them raw!
Peeling: Exfoliate the superficial layers of the skin so that the new layers are ready for their dose of sunlight (if protected!).
Hydrate your skin: Whether it's with a moisturizer or a hydrating mask, hydration is essential. The skin tends to dry out with the sun.
