How to manage stress?

  1. Take a break: Step away from anything that causes you stress and give yourself a break. Take a walk, listen to music, read a book, watch a movie, or do something else you enjoy.

  2. Talk to someone: Talking to a friend, family member, or mental health professional can help you manage your feelings and find a solution to your problem.

  3. Get moving: Exercise releases endorphins, which can help reduce stress. Book a workout session, download a fitness app, go on YouTube, or simply walk or run outside.

  4. Try to get organized: Taking the time to organize your life can help reduce stress by allowing you to easily find what you need and stay on top of tasks. This means making lists on your phone or in a notebook, filling your schedule with important appointments, and maybe even having a board at home with important things to remember. And most importantly, prioritize: grocery shopping for this weekend's dinner may be less important than renewing your expired transit pass or fixing a broken car.

  5. Eat healthily: A balanced diet can help support your mental health and reduce stress. Just for a few days or on an ongoing basis.

  6. Practice mindfulness: Mindfulness is a practice of focusing your attention on the present moment. It can help you become more aware of your thoughts and feelings and how they affect you. More information coming in our meditation article.
